ASHBURN, Va. — After missing practice all week with an injured left knee, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is officially ruled out for Sunday’s contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Earlier in the week, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said that he’d need to see his quarterback in practice before getting to the point where he could comfortably allow Daniels to play, but also emphasized the need to hit every marker along the way to returning to the field to do so.
Given Daniels’ multiskilled approach to playing the game, his ability to suit back up for Washington goes beyond the usual plant, step, and throw. While he was limited in Friday’s practice, Quinn said the quarterback just ‘isn’t quite’ where they need him to be for him to play this weekend.
