Jayden Daniels won’t start on Sunday against the Raiders.
The Commanders quarterback was limited in Friday’s practice — Dan Quinn said he ran and threw — but isn’t ready to play following a knee sprain he sustained last week. In Daniels’ place, backup Marcus Mariota will start against Las Vegas.
“We were going to be very diligent on his return to play and not miss any steps,” Quinn told reporters. “So we’re going to be smart, not just fast. The player wants to do everything all the time. That’s who he is as a competitor, which I love, but that’s how we’ll roll.”
Now that this week is off the table, does Quinn have a sense of how long the injury could keep Daniels sidelined?
“I wish I was smarter at that, but I‘m not going to play the doctor. I just can’t," Quinn said. “But what I can
