HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - The city of Evansville announced METS Micro is expanding into the Jacobsville neighborhood.

Officials state this is thanks to a grant from Deaconess Health System. The expansion will include .4 mules and 800 residents to the METS Micro service area, bringing the total coverage to 20.5 square miles and 66,900 residents served.

The expansion will also allow METS to have access to several key destinations including the Civic Center, Ford Center, Victory Theatre, CK Newsome Center, Old National Events Plaza, Denton Federal Building, USPS and Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Officials say as of September 1, METS Micro has provided 38,688 rides in 2025, up from 22,674 during the same period in 2024.
