LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - A woman in Lawrence is in custody after she hijacked a city bus.

The Lawrence Kansas Police Department said a woman forced her way into the driver’s seat and took off in the bus at about 11:15 Friday morning.

Police said the bus driver and two passengers were able to get off the bus before the woman left the Central Transit Station.

LKPD said the woman drove the bus north on Iowa, east on 6th and then north on Maine at about 35-40 miles per hour.

Eventually, officers pinned her in near 2nd and Michigan, where she surrendered and was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.
