AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit initiated a drug investigation into a drug trafficking organization on Thursday.

Around 10:37 p.m., with the assistance of the RCSO Narcotics Division, Crime Suppression Team, K-9 Unit and the Georgia Attorney General’s Office Gang Prosecution Unit, investigators executed a search warrant on the 2600 block of Brookshire Road.

“Gang life is a dead-end street. Across the nation, the majority of gang members end up incarcerated or victims of violence, and in Georgia alone, state officials estimate that thousands of violent crimes each year are linked to gangs.
