A New Jersey man was convicted of killing his wife after putting her in a chokehold, officials announced.
On Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, Shawn Lichtfuss, 53, was found guilty of murdering his wife, 38-year-old Stefanie Caraway. The verdict occurred after a trial that lasted six days in Camden County Superior Court.

On Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, shortly before 11 a.m., a person called Voorhees Township Police, saying they had received text messages from Lichtfuss in which he implied that he would possibly harm himself.
