PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A Dunlap family is spreading kindness and paying it forward to families at OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois, letting them know they are cared for.
It's all to honor Tessa Sutton, a teenager who loved sports, animals, music, Harry Styles, art and Disney movies. Sutton died just four days after her 17th birthday in March 2023 after her battle with an aggressive sarcoma.
At the hospital on Thursday, people donning purple shirts with the foundation logo and the number 18 on the back went around handing out books, games and toiletries to people staying at the children's hospital.
Sutton played soccer for Dunlap High School, and wore the number 18.
The items and the cart they were carried on was a sign of sunshine and hope for the children.
In her honor,
