JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - Antonio Green, who is accused of shooting and killing a Jackson teen back on July 27 , had his first court appearance on Friday.

During the court appearance, the prosecutors said that detectives have obtained messages in which Green had conversations with witnesses about the shooting of 18-year-old Mia Sims outside of a church in Jackson. However, Green’s defense team and the prosecutors stated that they have yet to receive any evidence about those conversations.

Green’s defense team also asked that his trial be moved outside of Jackson County; however, his request was denied.

Green was charged on three different counts:

Second-degree, murder

Firearm discharge in or at a building, causing death

Felony firearms

Green was also denied bond, and his next court
