ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Spanish journalist who has been in ICE custody for months is now facing deportation, according to the ACLU.

Mario Guevara, a Salvadoran journalist, is facing deportation and “could be put on a deportation plane at any moment,” the ACLU said.

“ICE must release him immediately and stop his deportation,” the ACLU said in a social media post.

The ACLU told Atlanta News First that a deportation order was issued for Guevara.

Guevara, who has bounced around different ICE facilities since June, was initially taken into custody while covering a protest in DeKalb County on June 14. Those charges were later dropped.
