As McMaster University's homecoming weekend begins, the City of Hamilton has secured a court order to stop "nuisance" parties.
The Ontario Superior Court of Justice granted the city the injunction order earlier this week and it went into effect at 12:01 a.m., Friday and will be in place until 11:59 p.m., Monday, the city said in a news release. It covers the "university district" that runs from the west side of Westdale and the Ainslie Wood neighbourhood.
The order does not apply to official and sanctioned on-campus homecoming activities, said the city. Homecoming will take place on Sunday.
