Page High School and Cone Elementary were placed on lockdown Friday due to a shooting near the schools, Guilford County Schools said in a release.

According to school officials, no students were injured. The school system said the mirror of a bus serving Doris Henderson Newcomers School was struck by a stray bullet.

"We are grateful for our staff and law enforcement partners who worked quickly to ensure students were safe," the school system said in the release.
