Steven Fletcher looks set to disappoint Hibs by hanging up his boots. ‌

The former Scotland international is edging towards retirement. ‌

David Gray had been keen to bring in the 38-year-old as a back-up and mentor to Kieron Bowie.

Fletcher was weighing up his future after he was released by Wrexham in the summer, having helped them win promotion to the English Championship.

He thought about Hibs’ approach but, as it stands, is set to call time on his 21 year career. ‌

Fletcher had thought about retiring after he left Dundee United two ago.

He then had the chance to join big-spending Wrexham and decided to continue playing.
