BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Seniors took over the gym at the Starrett City Older Adult Center in East New York for JASA’s second annual Senior Olympics.

The energetic crowd competed in games like pickleball, cornhole, and free throw shooting, but for many participants, the event was about much more than just winning medals.

From the sidelines, Brenda Pierre cheered loudly for her fellow competitors. “I’m sitting on the sideline, cheering them on. Of course, you know, I couldn’t get to the next level, but I’m not giving up. I’m ready for the next one,” she said with determination.
