(WIVT/WBGH) - A Binghamton man is looking to unite the community following the recent assassination of a political figure.

Skuyler Ryan Reynolds is hosting a community prayer and remembrance event for Charlie Kirk on Sunday.

Kirk, a conservative influencer, was shot and killed on September 10 during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old.

Reynolds says Sunday's vigil is not focused on politics, but on faith and fellowship.

There will be guest speakers, music, and refreshments.

Reynolds says he aims to spread kindness, strength, and hope as community members share their beliefs and learn more about one another.
