DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A man was arrested Thursday, Sept. 11, after allegedly threatening to shoot out the windows of Laura MacArthur Elementary School.
He was released on Friday on bail.
According to the Duluth Police Department, 72-year-old Richard Neault is charged with Threats of Violence-Reckless Disregard Risk.
Officials say the threats were made around 5 p.m. to staff at Mr. D’s Bar in West Duluth.
Neault allegedly spoke about shooting at the windows of the neighborhood school, which is visible from his home.
The staff there knew he lived near Laura MacArthur and told law enforcement about the threats made and that they had concerns about his mental health and well-being.
In the criminal complaint, when asked by law enforcement, Neault admitted to making the threa
