INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- A forensics lab in Texas helped restore the name to a once unidentified 1988 Kansas City Metro Jane Doe.
“We help to restore identities to the John and Jane Does—these are people that die without their name being known, and we help to resolve criminal cases where there’s some crime that’s occurred and there’s DNA evidence left behind,” Colby Lasyone, the Chief of Staff for the forensics lab in Texas, Othram, shared with FOX4.
“Many folks who die without their identity being known do turn out to be a victim of homicide and how can you begin an investigation into a homicide without really fully understanding your victim?”
