David George Kuykendall, age 79, of New Market, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at home after an unexpected cancer diagnosis in recent weeks. George worked as mechanic and farmer all his life.

Preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Monroe Kuykendall; sisters, Linda Henry, Cathy Denton, and Wanda “Jean” Steelmon; brother, Robert Kuykendall; mother-in-law, Opal Yeary.

He will be greatly missed by his lifelong partner and wife of 40 years, Barbara Lyle; sons, Keith Kuykendall and James Lyle (Ashley); grandchildren, Cameron and Ethan; siblings, Wayland Kuykendall (Ida), John Kuykendall (Henry), Montie White, Mick Kuykendall (Carolyn), Doug Kuykendall (Patricia); father-in-law, Curtis Yeary; brother-in-law, Marvin Yeary (Lori); good friend, Dennis Williams;
