WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- One of three teens charged in the May 26, 2024, acid attack on another teen has pleaded guilty.
Tayronnia West pleaded guilty Friday in Sedgwick County District Court to reckless aggravated battery. The attack happened on May 26, 2024, in the 400 block of N. Young Street in Wichita.
Wichita Police say an 18-year-old woman arrived at a hospital with second-degree burns to her face and neck. The woman had reportedly been in a fight that involved three other women when one of them threw acid at her.
Sentencing for West is scheduled for November 5. Her co-defendant Ye'Kira Hollins, pleaded guilty to the same charge in April and was sentenced to 34 months in prison with a post-release supervision of two years.
