The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating after a shooting at a business in the northwest part of the city Friday morning.

Police received reports of the shooting near 108th Avenue and 125th Street shortly after 8:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found several bullet holes in the back of the business.

The motive for the shooting is unclear, and Sgt. Tige Pollock tells 1130 NewsRadio that investigators do not yet know whether this shooting is related to extortion.

“We are concerned anytime someone indiscriminately fires a weapon without care or attention,” Pollock said.

“It’s alarming to police.”

No injuries have been reported.

Anyone with video footage or information about the incident is asked to call the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and refer to file 25-8185
