LUBBOCK, Texas -- Since Caprock Family Farms and others filed a lawsuit against the state over a potential THC ban in June, things have changed in that time. When the state legislature was thinking about banning THC, it ended up being blocked by Governor Abbott himself.

Co-owner of Caprock Family Farms, Zach Gauger explained what his family business did at the beginning of the summer.

"We had a lawsuit against the Texas government. It's called 'taking' and or that was the premise of the lawsuit," Gauger said.

However, just days after it was filed, the suit was dropped due to a last-minute decision from the governor's mansion.
