BROOKLYN. N.Y. (PIX11) -- Another New York Democrat in office is backing Zohran Mandani in his bid for New York City Mayor.

Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, who represents New York's 9th Congressional District in Brooklyn, is endorsing Mamdani, according to Mamdani's campaign office.

Clake's endorsement comes days after New York Governor Kath Hochul announced she endorsed the Queens Representative for mayor.

Clarke is expected to make her announcement to the public on Saturday afternoon.

Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist, is the favorite to be the next mayor of New York City, according to recent polls.
