Shelter-in-place in Mahtomedi area as police hunt for 'possible armed suspects'

Authorities have issued a "code red" and are advising residents to shelter-in-place in parts Mahtomedi, Grant and Stillwater Friday evening.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, police activity in the area of 75th Street North and Inwood Way North involves the search of "two possible armed suspects."

"Individuals of interest are described as two black males with black dreads about 5 foot, 10 inches to 6 foot tall wearing black and brown clothing," the sheriff's office announced around 7:20 p.m.

"Residents in the immediate area of 75TH ST N/Inwood Way N are advised to shelter in place. Please call 9-1-1 if you see or hear anything suspicious. Do not approach if seen as may be armed and dangerous."

The area outlined below is where the code red alert is in effect.
