AKRON, Iowa (KCAU) — Autumn is just around the corner, with the cooler temperatures today and the leaves changing color. And Akron, Iowa, is hosting an event in honor of the season.
Saturday marks the return of their 25th year of the Great Akron Scarecrow Festival. The festival takes place at Akron Park and will feature many events for family and friends to enjoy, including a scarecrow contest.
Leanne Phillips, a volunteer at the festival, said that the festival continues to impact the community after the event has ended.
