(FOX40.COM) -- The Sacramento Police Department confirmed an unknown suspect fired gunshots at ABC's local news affiliate in downtown Sacramento around 1:30 p.m.

Fox40 arrived on-scene and spoke with investigators. Because it's so early in the investigation, they told our team they have no suspect or known motive at this time.

It is worth noting that the ABC network has had a heavy presence in the headlines these past few days, surrounding the recent decision to pull "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" after comments the host made about the Trump administration.

At this time, there is no confirmation on whether or not this local incident is at all related to the national news.
