VANCOUVER, Wash. — The 6-year-old boy who was left in critical condition after he and his father were hit by a driver on Wednesday has died, Vancouver police confirmed Friday night.
The crash happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. at Northeast 137th Avenue and Northeast 64th Circle. According to court documents, 28-year-old Jose Quevedo and his child, Joshua, were walking along the road, as there were no sidewalks due to ongoing construction.
When officers arrived, they found Quevedo dead and his son critically injured. Shortly after the crash, police mistakenly reported that Joshua had died, and later corrected their report to say that he was still on life support at Randall Children's Hospital.
Joshua was a first grader and had finished his third day of school, Natalie Quevedo-Sanchez
