The Guardians remain in the middle of the Amerian League playoff race as the regular season enters its final 10 days. Cleveland kept it going in Minnesota with a 6-2 win, extending their season-best winning streak to eight games.

A sweep of the Tigers heading into a weekend series at the Twins has helped Cleveland not only climb up in the wild card standings but kept them within striking distance of the Tigers .

The Guardians have played their best baseball in September, winning 13 times in a 14-game span to keep themselves in the race for one of the American League three wild card spots.
