MACOMB TWP. — At every practice, Dakota’s football coaching staff stresses perfect execution in all three phases of the game — offense, defense and special teams.
The Cougars came close to that goal Friday when they defeated Stevenson 28-14 in a battle of unbeaten Macomb Area Conference Red Division teams.
“It’s stressed a lot,” said senior Dominic Vanvliet, who led the defensive effort with a pair of interceptions and also kicked four extra points. “Our coaches are always on us to be perfect every single game. Tonight we went out and executed perfectly.
