LAKEWOOD, Ohio – Sophomore quarterback Carter Atwater threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns to lead Rocky River (4-1, 2-0) to a convincing 39-13 win over host Lakewood (3-2, 1-1) in Cleveland West Conference play on Friday night.

It is the Pirates’ fourth straight win in the series.

“I’m happy for our kids’ effort to get out of here with a win,” said Rocky River coach Josh Wells. “Carter knows the offense in and out and can run it really well. He makes the right decisions and the right throws, and he put kids in position to make plays tonight.”

Atwater, leaning on his explosive playmakers, recorded touchdown passes of 14, 39, 85, and 51 yards. Three of the four came in the first half.
