FRANCONIA – It was all Noah Porter kept thinking about.

The Souderton senior linebacker continually thought about the mantra his coaches had drilled all week: “foot on the gas.” Big Red had started very slowly in Friday’s important showdown with visiting Quakertown, a game Souderton had circled almost 365 days ago but once the hosts got their first break of forward progress, they knew what to do.

Souderton certainly kept its foot on the gas in a convincing 49-12 win over the Panthers that likely will have some say in how the SOL Continental Conference title plays out next month.
