Several major airports across Europe including Heathrow in London are reported to have been hit by a cyber attack.

Airports in Brussels and Berlin are also understood to have been affected.

A business providing check-in and boarding systems for several airlines around the world was targeted in the attack, which has left automated systems out of action.

Staff at Brussels Airport are having to conduct manual check-in and boarding procedures.

It’s website stated: “This has a large impact on the flight schedule and will unfortunately cause delays and cancellations of flights.”

Heathrow has warned “a technical issue” at a third-party supplier could cause delays.

Passengers to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.
