Local teen Molly O’Sullivan has made her silver screen debut, interviewing some of the country’s biggest names to highlight the importance of autistic representation.

The 19-year-old University of Newcastle (UoN) student is an aspiring filmmaker with dreams of becoming a director.

But, living in Nelson Bay has made it difficult for Molly to find a community of people with similar interests.

“It’s been a nightmare where I am,” she told the Newcastle Weekly .

“For me to be able to do anything creative in filmmaking or journalism, I have to go to Newcastle which is over an hour away which it makes it pretty difficult.”

So, when she saw the casting call for the ABC’s The Assembly on a Facebook group, she took her chance.
