There are many reasons one might choose to write about a baseball player. Murder might be one such reason, as the conviction of Dan Serafini, former Minnesota Twins pitcher, for the death of his in-laws. How about a game-saving catch like the one Sandy Amoros made that is credited with the Brooklyn Dodgers being able to win their first and only World Series? How about Bill Wambsganss (known as “Wamby”) , who single-handedly pulled off the only triple play in World Series history, or Ted Williams’ 56-game hitting record?
If one comes across a ball player nicknamed “Adonis” who played multiple positions on the field, sometimes during the same game, and who pitched a 13-inning complete game and pitched over 3,500 innings in his career, wouldn’t that qualify? How could he not make the lis
