GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Few things impact an individual and their family like a diagnosis of Alzheimer's.
The Alzheimer's Association says 7 million Americans are currently living with this brain disease, which is the most common cause of dementia.
Each year the effort to further research and end Alzheimer's gets bigger and more united. One way to help is by joining in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's. This year's event takes place at Target Field Sept. 27, with between 12,000 and 14,000 people expected to take part.
KARE 11's own Karla Hult and event director Jennifer Hendrickson visited KARE 11 Saturday to talk about the event, the search for a cure and the importance of supporting families whose lives are touched by dementia.
