BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a late-night serious crash involving a scooter and a small SUV in Butler County.
They were called around 10:45 p.m. on Friday, September 19, about 2 miles north of Poplar Bluff on U.S. 67.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the Major Crash Investigation Unit #4 was called to the scene.
According to MSHP, a Chevrolet Equinox hit the rear of an electric scooter.
Investigators said the driver of the scooter, a 31-year-old Poplar Bluff man, was killed in the crash.
The driver of the SUV, a 47-year-old Greenville, Missouri woman, reportedly was not hurt.
Troopers say the scooter was totaled in the crash and the SUV has extensive damage.
This is the 44th crash-related death in MSHP Troop E reported in 2025.
