PITTSFIELD, Ill. (WGEM) - A teen was arrested on Wednesday after multiple reports of attempted vehicle burglaries on the southeast side of Pittsfield.

According to Pittsfield Police, there were multiple reports of a suspicious person in the area wearing a ski mask.

Police stated they conducted surveillance at the house of a teenager who was suspected of vehicle burglaries in the same area.

Police said they saw the teen leaving the house in a ski mask. They said they also saw a stolen vehicle stop in front of the house and speed off.

An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove away.

During a short chase, the vehicle hit mailboxes and a fire hydrant before crashing on Conroy Street.

Police reported that everyone in the vehicle ran off, and the driver was later arrest
