DERIDDER, La. (KPLC) - A Merryville man is accused of making a bomb threat to the Beauregard Parish Courthouse earlier this week.
William Roseberry Jr. was arrested by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office on the following counts:
Terrorizing; menacing
Communicating of false information of planned arson
Just before 1 p.m. Sept. 18, the Beauregard Parish Communications district received a call about a bomb in the courthouse, BPSO said. In response, first responders shut down businesses around the courthouse in downtown DeRidder and U.S. 171.
After a thorough search, no threat was found, BPSO said. Downtown businesses and highway traffic were reopened shortly after.
The sheriff’s office identified Roseberry as a suspect. According to jail records, he was booked into the parish jail
