DENVER, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado House Republicans elected Representative Jarvis Caldwell (R) as their Minority Leader Saturday morning.

The election follows the resignation of the previous Minority Leader, Rose Pugliese (R) .

Members nominated Caldwell in a Zoom meeting Saturday, along with Reps. Ken DeGraaf (R) and Larry Don Suckla (R).

Caldewell won with 60% of the votes, with Suckla and DeGraaf receiving 20% each.

Caldewell serves as the representative of House District 20, which encompasses El Paso County and Monument.

“I will fight to restore Colorado to a prosperous state where families are safe, communities are strong, and government is accountable to the people we are elected to represent,” Caldwell said in his remarks Saturday.
