ASSUMPTION PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Two juveniles were arrested after they allegedly posted to social media about bringing a bomb to Assumption High School, authorities said.

According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, the two juveniles were charged with communication of false information of planned bombing on school property.

Detectives said they were notified about the social media post between the two juveniles on Friday, September 19, which contained thoughts about bringing a bomb to school. The post was shared by many people and was also forwarded to school administrators and law enforcement.

Through an investigation, authorities determined there was no credible threat to the school.

School leaders addressed the arrests in a message to the community.
