WESTLAKE, Ohio – At 11 p.m. on Sept. 7, officers spotted a driver committing several traffic violations on I-90 westbound and discovered that the registered vehicle owner had several outstanding warrants for her arrest, including a felony theft warrant from Lorain County.
The officers tried to stop the car as it entered Lorain County, but the driver failed to comply with the officers’ lights and sirens. Officers began to pursue the car, and they attempted a PIT (pursuit intervention technique) maneuver, which is used to spin a suspect’s vehicle. However, the suspect then drove the wrong way on the highway in a continued attempt to flee, according to the police department.
