With the Vancouver Canucks in Penticton for training camp, one of the club's beloved alumni took the opportunity to make a special community appearance.
Former goaltender Kirk McLean, who backstopped Vancouver to a 1994 Stanley Cup Finals berth, was joined by the team's mascot Fin in visiting Queen's Park Elementary School in Penticton on Sept. 19.
The duo interacted with students as part of the "Fins Friends" character education program. McLean and Fin also took part in a similar event at Tuc El Nuit Elementary School in Oliver one day earlier.
Fin, the Canucks' mascot since the 2001-2002 season, has also enjoyed the sights and scenes in Penticton since the team arrived in the city for training camp on Thursday, Sept. 18.
