SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport's Mooretown community celebrated its history and future Saturday morning with the unveiling of a new public art installation.

The “Pillars of Progress” unveiling ceremony was held at the intersection of Broadway and Kennedy Drive.

The installation by artist KaDavien Baylor features murals and artistic designs meant to inspire residents while honoring the strength, history, and resilience of the Mooretown community.

Caddo Parish Commissioner Stormy Gage-Watts says the project “is designed not only as a work of art but also as a permanent reminder of the progress and unity within the neighborhood.”
