ATLANTA — The awaited Georgia Tech game against the Temple Owls on Saturday has been delayed.
According to an X post from the university's page, officials told fans in the stadium to leave the seating bowl and shelter in place in a covered area.
It appears the delay was due to the weather. 11Alive's Chief Meteorologist Chris Holcomb stated there was lightning within an 8-mile radius of the Bobby Dodd Stadium.
The kickoff was scheduled for 4:30 p.m. for the game. According to the university, the new kickoff time will be at 5:05 p.m.
The delay comes after Georgia Tech stunned the NCAA Atlantic Coast Conference, upsetting Clemson, 24-21. The win knocked the Clemson Tigers out of the AP Top 25 ranking and kicked Georgia Tech's rank up to No. 18.
