SALISBURY, Conn. — The Federal Aviation Administration reports that a Cessna 172 aircraft crash landed in a field at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Two people were onboard, according to the FAA, which is currently investigating the incident.
The team at Lime Rock Park, a racetrack located at 60 White Hollow Road, posted on Facebook that the Cessna experienced a mechanical failure and was forced to make an emergency landing at the park.
The plane reportedly crashed into the Armco near Turn 6.
Two people were onboard. The pilot was uninjured, but the passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital to be treated.
