PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) -- Two children were killed and three others were injured Saturday in an early morning crash in Pike County.

It happened on Alabama 167 near the 49 mile marker, approximately nine miles south of Troy around 5:20 a.m.

A 2 year old and 5 year old were killed when the 2018 Nissan Kicks, they were passengers in, collided with the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 16-year-old. Both children were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a 37 year old Geneva man, was also injured, along with a 6 year old and 10 year old, all three were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
