GEORGETOWN, Ind. —
A man is dead after being hit by a train in Georgetown, Indiana, officials said.
According to Sheriff Steven Bush with the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, a call came in around 2:22 a.m. on Saturday about a person struck by a train in the 9500 block of State Road 64.
Bush said the victim, identified as 30-year-old Camden Reed of Crestwood, Kentucky, was found on the ground, next to the railway overpass.
Life-saving measures were performed by responding officers until Fire and EMS arrived at the scene.
Reed was transported to the hospital, where, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said, he later died of his injuries.
Norfolk Southern Railroad Police were on scene assisting with the investigation.
