BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Birmingham Police Department has arrested a man accused of throwing large rocks at moving cars.

Police say that on Sunday, Sept. 14, East Precinct officers were conducting a business check on Gadsden Highway.

According to police, a victim flagged them down and reported that someone was throwing large rocks at cars that were driving along Gadsden Highway and Roebuck Parkway.

Police say that officers were able to immediately find and arrest the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Tyrese Hayes of Montgomery.

Police confirmed that before they arrested Hayes, he hit four vehicles with rocks. No injuries were reported.
