NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police investigate after a 10-year-old boy said he was kidnapped at gunpoint Thursday in Algiers and managed to escape.

The boy’s mother told FOX 8 that her son was walking home from the bus stop with his younger brother Thursday afternoon when two men in ski masks and dressed in black grabbed him on Kraft Place.

She said the men stuffed a sock in his mouth and took him to an abandoned house on a nearby street.

The child told FOX 8 the men held him at gunpoint. but he kicked down a door and fled when they briefly walked away.

He said another child, who attends a different school, was also inside the house and escaped as well.
