LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A new school store for old school gaming opened its doors Saturday.
Blast Off Gaming, located at 7513 Outer Loop in the Highview neighborhood, held its grand-opening weekend.
While the store sells video games, trading cards, and other collectibles, the store’s owners, Hughe Blaske and Jason Downey, says a main selling point is creating a "third space."
"Third space" is a way to refer to any location where people can socialize and interact with the community, that is separate from the home, or the first space, and the workplace, the second space.
In a news release, Blast Off Gaming said it “hopes that folks will get out from behind their screens and come play their favorite board game, tabletop RPG, or trading card game with friends (or strangers) in the real world.”
