SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - Four people are dead after a two-car crash in northeast Salem on Saturday evening, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 8 p.m., officers responded to the crash on Cordon Road between Sunnyview Road Northeast and Carolina Avenue Northeast.

Four people riding in one of the cars died at the scene.

Two people in the other car were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. A third person in that car was also taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries.

MCSO said Cordon Road Northeast will be closed for several more hours while investigators examine the scene.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office asks community members to avoid the area to allow first responders and investigators to work safely.
