Sky-gazers are in for a treat tonight as there's a chance to get an unusual view of Saturn.

The Earth will be between the planet and the Sun this evening - a configuration known as opposition.

During this point, Saturn is at its closest point to Earth and directly opposite the Sun.

Due to its location, it will be fully illuminated, and much easier to spot with the naked eye.

Those who are eager to catch a glimpse of the second biggest planet in our solar system should keep a close eye on the sky tonight.

If it is not cloudy, it should be visible throughout the night, after sunset.
